W2R Motorsport are eager to welcome Ginetta GT4 Supercup duo Lee Frost and Lucky Khera to the team for their first outing in GT5 this coming weekend at Donington Park.
Freshly back from their successful Supercup outing at Silverstone BTCC weekend, which included a podium for Khera in Race 3, the Am driver pairing will participate in two W2R cars for the final rounds of the uber-competitive GT5 championship this season.
W2R Motorsport’s Ben Hyland: “Big welcome to the team to both Lucky and Lee. I’m really eager to get these guys out in the GT5 class and believe it will be very exciting for them. Having driven the more powerful bigger brother G55 for the year both drivers have adapted well to the G40, showing an excellent understanding of the car and strong pace in testing.”
Lee Frost: “We are both very excited to be racing in GT5 this weekend. Jumping into a series as competitive as GT5 for the last round having not raced the car before feels a little crazy, but we had a very good test on Monday the car felt really nice and was great fun to drive. The W2R guys have been very professional from the start and made the whole weekend very easy for us so thanks for the opportunity”.
Lucky Khera: “Myself and Lee have loved racing with Ginetta this year so we jumped at the chance to try out the G40. Testing has gone really well and we got to grips with the car. Having a great team like W2R behind us has given us a lot of confidence. After getting some Silverware at Silverstone, and I am hoping to do the same at Donington!”
With championships and final standings still to be decided this weekend at Donington Park British GT, W2R Motorsport go into the season finale event looking to retain their GT5 Am crown with Adrian Campbell-Smith, whilst in G40 Cup team-mates Rob Keogh and Jack Oliphant will dice it out to decide P2 and P3 overall.
