After a long winter of testing and preperation Team W2R are excited ahead of this weekend's season opener at Oulton Park, seeing their GT5 and GRDC+ squad out in full force as they embark on their first competitive laps since last September. The team have run an extensive winter test programme, including a trip to Southern Spain, alongside extensive UK days and driver coaching from Tom Oliphant, David Pittard and Jake Hill.
In GT5 Adrian Campbell-Smith makes his debut in the AM class of this extremely popular series, running in full GT5 race spec with uprated power, sequential geabox and full race slick/wet tyres. Adrian is a firm favourite in his class which will see their own Championship points and podiums running alonside the PRO class.
GRDC+ class runs on its own grid this season for the first time, making it now a bone fida Championship with some excellent racing ahead in the G40 Club cars. Team W2R look to build on the success earnt last season, with drivers Paul Oliphant, Jack Oliphant and Michael Crees all confident to be aiming for high finishes each round.
Ben Hyland, W2R team owner said: "I'm happy with our progress over the winter with some issues with the new cars we have had to overcome. The development of the cars and drivers is testament to the team's technical extertise, hard work and support from our driver coaches. The drivers are all looking fast and confident ahead of what will be a superb season of Ginetta racing ahead".
